I'm not sure what Dick used to start the bantam buff project. Leisha has some of the buffs now.

If you want LF buffs I'd start with a buff orp. Same leg color. My son really wants to start that project, but I told him we have enough going on already.

I wan't bantams.

Ok, I am going to start a project, because it is a lot easier then importing. But i would love to hear about your experiences raising and breeding buffs

If I remember right, Dick started with a buff orpington to a salmon hen. I will have to look up his formula, but i think he said it is a 5 year project.

Ok. I have Buff cochin would that work? I would think the leg feathers would be one thing that i would need to work on, Muffs would need to be another thing to be worked on. Any thing i am missing?

Well, leg and skin color. Cochins have yellow skin and legs, while favs have white skin and legs. Not really sure how the genetics works out there.

Yes, that is very true. We have another show this week with a different judge. I'm interested to see what he says. The other judge was giving his honest opinion. It's possible that I just took it wrong since I was so hopeful that he would like my girls.
