Faverolles Thread

I thought I would post a picture of cuteness. I have 9 LF Salmon Faverolle chicks and 1 MFC chick.
(Between being a favorite of the rooster and not leaving the nest when going broody my hen looks a little rough)

Yeah, that lady bought hatching eggs from me. She doesn't have the parents. Another chicken acquaintance sent me the link to the CL ad, which this lady posted BEFORE the eggs even hatched. I will not be selling to her again...

A very reasonable one!

I agree! I'm going to go ahead and keep my roo with the crossbeak as a safety net, at least until I see what the other roo's chicks are like and I have a decent rooster population.

I was surprised to wake up to peeping in my garage this morning! I love spring! There are so many baby animals.

Now I have a piglet, a duckling, chicks, turkeys, and soon I'll have goslings!

Here are the pudgy little chicks. More Faverolles are on the way, but I have these two with an Australorp/Welsummer x Faverolle mix (Clean legged) and a rescued mallard duckling that I got from the local veterinarian.

All the chicks are doing well. Luckly momma isn't the terror I have heard of other broodies being. Once I get a dz eggs back in the fridge I will be setting more. I also have 7 6week olds. Two have already been marked for dinner and the 3rd cockerel may get to grow out a little longer. We shall see.
