Hello, am glad that this table crops up once in awhile to help remember. Have asked a few times with various answers, but what is the opinion of how long one should wait before collecting hatching eggs again after switching roos???? Also have always wondered why self-blue/lavender and some of the other colors of a given breed can breed true, but not blue, as in blue, black, splash? Just Curious, eliz

Salmon/blue salmon does work like BBS.
salmon x salmon = 100% salmon
blue salmon x salmon = 50% salmon, 50% blue salmon
blue salmon x blue salmon = 25% salmon, 50% blue salmon, 25% splash salmon
splash salmon x salmon = 100% blue salmon
splash salmon x blue salmon = 50% blue salmon, 50% splash salmon
splash salmon x splash salmon = 100% splash salmon
So you haven't hatched any splash salmons? Salmon x salmon can only give you salmon, just like black x black will give black. However it isn't always easy to tell the salmon/blue salmon/splash salmon hens apart. If you do get some blue salmons out of your salmon only pen then you have a blue salmon hen in there somewhere, or a splash! Though splash salmon hens are usually a little easier to spot.
