Thanks Cloverfleaf I know that ya'll are right. I was just hoping someone would tell me I was wrong. OKay, so I got my chicks from buff beauty and she said she got her birds from Liesha. Is there anyone out there who needs a nice roo. I would really prefer to do local pickup. Because, of my roo to hen ratio I am gonna have to rehome one of these fine fellows. I would really prefer he find a home with someone who knows what a Salmon Faverolle is and realizes this is a special breed and not just some back yard chicken. If anyone is interested please let me know. I am happy to have a roo but, two roos and no hens ( Salmon Faverolles ) just won't do.

It's hard to say at this age. Keep an eye out for the shoulder feathers, they are the best way to tell. At this age I've guessed wrong most of the time. Brown and black wings are boys, beige/white/brownish wings are girls. Shoulders should come in black on males, and beige on females. There are some good examples on feathersite and one this thread in the last 10 pages.
I have a 5 week old roo that has been raised by a broody. I am gonna have to rehome one. How long do you think I should wait before rehoming him. I don't want to separate him from his momma to early. Should I wait till he is old enough to fend himself if whoever takes him decides to go ahead and put him with a flock?

To cute J!!! What hatched from the eggies I sent out, anything worth keeping?
Oh my gosh Misty, I'm sorry, I meant to PM you, I thought I did!!
I ended up with 2 blues, 1 black, and 2 salmons. One of the salmons and the black went to one of my 4Hers, he had a lone silkie chick that needed brooder friends.
