Faverolles Thread

You can't go wrong with Dick's birds and he is a well-spring of information... Hi Dick!

Weird! I posted a long reply and now I can't find it... if this is a repeat I apologise for boring everyone. I have 3 pullets from a Merlin roo breeding that are growing faster than any chick I have hatched so far. The culls from that batch that I sold to a lady in VT are also doing well. The chicks I am producing for my chick orders have been very uniform in size/shape/quality/vigor and they are down right saucy! They run up to any hand put in the brooder to investigate the "invaders", and despite my efforts to prevent them from hatching (0%incubator was all over the place for this hatch!) I got 80% hatch rate with none needing "help" of any kind. I am eagerly waiting to finish my orders so I can set eggs from my planned breedings. Gonna be a big year around here... I might even get coaxed to a show or two.

I am new to LF salmon faverolle and I am really having a hard time selling them locally so I am really considering selling the few that I have. I have 1hen and 1 rooster from this winter they are about 3 months old, other than that I have two trios one trio is 1 year old and unrelated and the other trio is probably 3 years old if anyone is interested.
