What do you think I would get out of my Salmon Faverolle rooster and my white Faverolle hen? What percentage would turn out white! She is superb great body just a little light on the beard but I would love to breed her and hopefully get some whites! Also if anyone has white Faverolles I would be very interested in getting some!!! Thanks...

If she's recessive white you would get all salmons that carry white. I don't know if Favs have a dominant white version...anybody else want to answer that one??

I have a recessive white Faverolles hen too. Based on my hatches, it must depend somewhat on the rooster you are crossing her with. I hatched a couple of dozen from her last year and had no white chicks at all. This year she is in with a different rooster and I've hatched probably the same amount of her eggs so far with 6 chicks being white and the rest salmon. Do keep in mind that some of your "white" chicks may end up with salmon leakage by the time they mature.

I wish I were closer and I'd give you a white rooster! One of recessive white hen's chicks is pure white, no leakage so far, and soooo pretty. Unfortunately, he'll probably be going to freezer camp as I don't need a white rooster.

Just because she is from a line of all whites does not mean that it is not recessive white. It also does not mean that she is not hiding other colors - salmon - because white can hide just about anything.

Here are some pics of my six week old Favs. that I hatched from Pasofino farms. I am so excited. I have some blue salmons.




I just love this boy. I think he is going to be something special...
