Faverolles Thread

I think I have a fever.... Faverolles are like Lays, you can't have just one, hehehe
Exactly! LOL I'm even selling off the last of my Ameraucanas to open up space for the bantam whites I'm getting. That'll make 8 varieties of bantams, and 3 varieties of large fowl...

At least the LF buffs aren't staying here, they're going to a friend's house...LOL

Oh, so you're dragging others into your addiction! LOL, that's fun....

We have plenty of room, but I sometimes feel like I "manipulate" so much of DBF's time, building my pens/coops and such - I feel bad! - Even though he never complains.... He never has time for his own projects because he's always working on mine

I'm not too happy with my Ameraucanas, they're very chicken aggressive and the roo has become suicidal.... But everyone loves those beautiful eggs

Yeah, the Ams are very chicksn aggressive. I culled a bantam hen because she was literally trying to kill a LF Fav cockerel that was 5 times her size. He was just standing there taking it. Can't say I'll miss the Ams. I am keeping a trio that I am attached to, but not breeding any more. Seems kind of weird to think I'll never hatch another blue egg....

Seems to me there should be a more flock friendly, blue egg layer....I'm glad to hear mine are the rule, not the exception.... For a long time I wasn't sure if it was just my little group...

When I brought home my first SF quad, the "hench-hens" would peck at him mercilessly. And, he just sat on the roost and passively took it from them. I don't think they do that anymore, in any case, they didn't injure him, but it sure looked humiliating!

I have week old buff Ameraucanas, and salmon Faverolle bantams in the incubator due Saturday. It'll be interesting to see if I catch your disease.

Be prepared, hehehe - there's no vaccine

The Faverolles (overall, I know there are exceptions) are just so good natured, not flighty, flock friendly and cuddly cute - what's not to like

You'll have to show us the new kids!

Geez, I feel like a slacker cutting back to just the LF salmons, and my fun project.

Oh well, when I get a few years under my belt with the salmons maybe I'll tackle the whites.
