Oh geez, that's really too bad Henry, especially since those birds are gone now. Maybe if you're in a position to hatch some in the spring, I can send you eggs from my Merlin birds, and could do some of my big flock too....

So my lone faverolles pullet that I hatched from Peter's Summer Line was taken by a coon about a week ago. I was pretty heartbroken. But I still have access to a few of her hatch mates that are staying at a nearby farm they are all cockerels. I was wondering if anyone had a started pullet or two that I could buy. I think next spring I will be getting into breeding again once I move out of the city and I need a nice pullet to go along with the Peter Merlin cockerels. I am willing to pay good money for some nice birds as I know a good start doesn't come cheaply and I want to have some good pullets to match up to the cockerels who are developing nicely. Hope everyone is doing well. My laying flock seems to keep growing and growing. I had just four birds, then seven, now twelve the maximum in my city is supposed to be four. But I figure if I get caught I will just put the coop on a trailer and move it to one of the farms I work on. Please PM me with any info you might have. I would really rather not hatch eggs now because I don't have a good place to keep chicks inside all winter. If no one has anything I would still love to hear about how your birds are turning up. I haven't forgotten about faverolles don't worry guys!

I am sorry I some how missed this. What happened to Peter's birds? Please let me know. You can PM me if it is not something to post. That is very sad if his birds are gone.![]()
That for sure sounds like a good offer. Before I take you up on it I am going to swing down and take a look at these cockerels. If they aren't any good for breeding I may not have the time or energy to devote to them. If they are something worth working with I will for sure take you up on that although I may be getting some pullets from someone else as well. Egg swaping sounds good. Here is the run down on my situation as it stands. I live in the city of Burlington where roosters are not allowed. I have 3X the legal limit of 4 chickens. But I am going to cull the older 4 hens and possibly get rid of some of the layer chicks I am raising. Then I will be moving out of the city next spring. So I can either chance it and bring the best of the three roosters into town and lock him up early in the morning and at night. Move the coop to the farm I am working on and keep the hens there and have free reign to do what ever breeding projects I want. Or wait until this spring when I move out of Burlington and then undertake some breeding projects then. What do you guys think? I would like to have some faverolles either way because I think they are by far the best breed as we all know haha.

Peter apparently got irked at some breeders for not following his instructions and he "disposed" of his flock. Read this thread. Peter posted himself.

Sandy, Jeremy was able to get a young flock of Salmon Faverolles that were from the UA flock. Should be quality birds!
