I am so sad

.......my neighbors are complaining about my Handsome Boy's crowing in the am........ he needs a new home......

He is just over 5 months old, he is from Dick Boulanger's flock......any takers out there??

I am in Hudson MA,I will drive locally to deliver him to a good home & not to a soup pot.

Crapolla to bad I am not nearer to you. I could use a male from Dick's line as well as my Peter hatched birds. Just incase the cross doesn't work. He looks like a really handsome boy. Anyone should be happy to have him. I will see if any of my friends are driving down to MA soon. Although my neighbors may appreciate the rooster either.

Where are you in VT??? I could do southern VT, it's about 2 hrs, but it would be worth knowing he's going to a nice home.

I am all the way up in Burlington. I have to ponder on it some more and then possibly I could meet you in Southern Vermont. But I need to talk to my roommates and decide if I really need another rooster.

Yeah I think I may hold off for a while. Some of the girls are probably his sisters and a few have looser wings like that. I am also very excited about the prospects of the cross so I may try it and want to see the males again before I rush into getting anther one.

Have you tried putting him somewhere else overnight, like in the basement or in the garage? I knew someone who solved this problem by keeping their cockerel in one of those giant totes in their basement overnight, and he only roamed during the day. If you are legally allowed to have the bird, try this option first. Ask you neighbors if that would satisfy them. I had to get rid of my cockerels, and I hated it.

I did this with one of my silkie pullets. She was announcing her presence, loudly, every morning at 4:30am. I started putting her in a dog crate in the garage at night for like 2-3 weeks and then out during the day. She no longer does it. It might be a decent option for you.
