Faverolles

Ewe My standards Girls look nothing like my Bantam Girls ---Is that a difference in the Sizes ?
The standards are more friendly then the bantams in my case--

I Still think that chickens can have similar traits of personality based on breeds but I don't think you can group - I have a couple Favs that are skittish and more that aren't - Kinda like people liking Spinich some do some don't --

My polish are the same way - I have been walking around with them since hatch but if they don't know it's me walking up they will jump - Lack of vision since I don't crest clip --

I had both standards and bantams that are friendly, perhaps its due to the bloodlines and temperment they had. The Mahoganys from Sandhill were good but skittish. I would not breed a highly strung Faverolles...its not their trait but once in a while we do get those Favs like that and they ended up in the freezer.

You can tell the difference in sizes for sure! My colors on the Faverolles have been consistent and they dont go too dark or too light of a salmon color or whatever color they come in. The fifth toe placements is the stickler in the breed and its important they do have fifth toes.

I am not an expert on Faverolles but I learn as I go along and asked TONS of questions about them and Dick Boulanger and Rose Isgrigg were the biggest helper of all and they do take the time out to answer any questions I had of the Faverolles. I've only been raising them for five years before I sold my only Fav bantam pullet two weeks ago and she was an excellent layer and she was from Catalupa Farms.

Wish you luck!
