Oh...how did I forget Labrynth and Princess Bride!!! Not to mention Legend, the Dark Crystal and 5th Element...... OMG and the Last Unicorn! I love that! Did we grow up in the same house? LMAO

I am doing my best to pass the love of these great movies on tot he next generation too.. my son LOVES them. They just don't make movies like that anymore.. and last I heard, they are filming a live action version of Last Unicorn.. I will be so mad if they mess it up!

Nutmeg, I like your format, I'm stealing it for my reply but expanding it a bit!

Of course I can't think of them all right now, but these come right to mind:

Girlie mood: Enchanted April. Every woman needs to see this movie - and believe it or not, they won't admit it, but manly men love it, too!

Action/Adventure:Indiana Jones, Crocodile Dundee, Big Trouble in Little China

Violent mood (not me feeling violent): The Die Hards were good, but I'm not much into violent movies, so I can't really vote here.

Classic: The Godfather l & ll

Drama:An English Patient, The Remains of the Day, Iris

Kids movie: The Wizard of Oz, Willow, The Princess Bride

Comedy:A Fish Called Wanda, Airplane,

Sci-Fi:Terminator, Terminator 2, Alien, Aliens

Fantasy: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy - when I saw Shiretown portrayed on the screen I actually cried, it was so real!

All time favorite I could watch over and over: Overboard. I just love that movie and watch it every time I see it on the listings.

My list could go on and on but I suppose that is enough for picking one favorite movie

I hear ya!

Edited to add: Don't go back and read all of these posts after you post, because you'll see a million movies you forgot to mention in your own list! Monty Python comes right to mind

Richard Gere is one of my mom's favorites

Hehe... I'm 25 and Richard Gere is one of my favorites. He is so dang good looking. His Irish accent in The Jackel (With Bruce Willis another favorite) makes me drool.

After reading more there were so many movies I forgot about that I love. I can't believe I forgot to add Second Hand Lions, Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (I like the old versions of the movies too that were on TV when I was little), the Pirates movies (Who doesn't like Johnny), and Paint your Wagons. Oh and any Monty Python!!
