I am constant reader. I almost always have a book with me or in my car. Hopefully this habit will continue on with my children. Anyway my favorite authors currently include:

J.K. Rowling (I am a rabid HP fan as evidenced by the names of my chickens: Hermione, Luna, Ginny, Fred, and George... all pullets as far as I know but I just had to name the twin RIRs after the Weasley twins)

Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child who write individually and as a team.

Dan Brown

James Herriot

Karen Robards

Ahhhhhhh, so many. But the author that got me into reading when I was a little girl was Jack London-Call of the Wild. I can honestly say I owe my love of reading to him.

Yellowdragon,

I'm not really a fantasy reader but I did read one and it compelled to hang outside the door of the bookshop waiting for them to get the sequel in - 2 years later:lau Yeah, it was that good. So, if you like Mercedes Lacky, try Kristen Britain's Green Rider Series.

Also check out www.bookcrossing.com. Say KoffeeshopKiwi referred you - yep, that's me!

Stephenie Meyers is a great writer. I have read all my daughters books by her. They are good even for us older folks. Another good author is Holly Black. I also enjoy Nora Roberts (romance) and she writes as J.D. Robb (mystery). Of course their is also Joyce Carol Oates too!

Just read.....everything you can get your hands on. If you have a local library that is the way to go...but if you find a book you just have to read over and over....well books are always a good investment.

Happy turning,
Liza
