Favorite Chicken Breed?

Pics
I dont particularly care about egg color, I like a nice dual purpose that lays well, is hardy and long producing/long lived (lifetime egg numbers are more than the egg specific breeds, just more spread out) excellent scavenger/forager and defensive against wildlife, amazing mothers, mild temperament, good in my climate (zone 6, so not COLD birds but not HOT either) and as a bonus lays well through the winter. So there is really only one answer, DORKINGS! I LOVE THEM ❤️
Agree! Love my Dorkings.

From my experience, nicest and friendly birds have been Light Sussex,Speckled Sussex, Bovan Black and Red. But, I love having many types of breeds in my mixed flock. Fun to have Frizzles, Silkies and Amerucaunas. Least favorite was Black sexlink. Cochins are sweet but always had too many dirty bum feathers. Working this year on trying Orpingtons for first time. Partridge, Isabel Creole and Lavender Cuckoo.

Hey y’all!! I’m wondering, what is your FAVORITE chicken breed?

I want the best egg producer, but I know that the ones bred for production are prone to short lives and/or health issues. So what is your tried and true, healthy, productive hens?!

Just tryna plan for possible chicks this spring. ☺️

Thanks in advance!
i dont care about egg production really im more drawn to heritage and ornamental breeds
