Favorite chicken breeds?

I was looking at these. Is it only the roosters that have the bad reputation?

Rhode Island Red hens tend to be more dominant and aggressive towards others. The roosters are known to be aggressive towards humans. Of course, an individual's personality cannot be determined by breed.

RIR roosters have a tendency to be jerks maybe more so than some other breeds. They can be very protective of their ladies. I'd be careful with little kids around them.
I've found the ladies are very friendly, curious and interactive and never had any bullying or aggression issues but some people say they can sometimes bully more docile breeds (like silkies) if in a mixed flock.
