We just caring for hens this past June as my kids wanted pets and our youngest is scare of dogs and cats. But, I'm no stranger to raising them. Growing up on a farm in NW Ohio, we had between 50-100 hens, depending on how well my sisters gathered the eggs every day.
But to think about it for a moment, my favorite memory would be of my 80 year old Grandmother sitting on the porch, throwing scratch and singing to the hens. She said that they laid better and that it calmed them down when she sang. I can hear her voice now, great times with her!

Favorite chicken memory is when i taught Moonshine the Sebright to fly up onto my arm. She's older now, has been a mama, and is less wanting to play falcon....
