Favorite coop cleaning tools

DL here. I use a bedding fork. IT comes in both a long and short handle verison. My preference is the long, b/c it makes it easier to get under the load and push it out the clean out door. The curvature of the tines also make it possible to even pull a load. For corners I use a garden hoe or rake. I use a snow scraper for the perches.

This tool is also indispensable when it comes to moving wood chips for BTE, and picking up DL materials for the run.

I use a 1 Gal milk jug with the bottom cut out on an angle, and a cat litter scooper to remove the poops from hammock that I have under the roost. the hammock collects all the droppings from my 7 hens, so it does not make it to the pine shavings. it works really well. I go out everyday and scoop it out, no smelly coop and I'm done in no time

Nice. I'm toying with the idea of putting a hammock under one of my short perches. However, I fear that they would fill it over night. The 2 perches are each 4' long, and there are about 12 birds that sleep there every night!

My roost are only about 5 ft. long and I have 7 chickens . I put 2 hooks under the lower roost, and I have a board with 2 eyebolts that the tarp is attached to, and I hook it to the bottom roost with enough drop in the hammock so the poops stay in the hammock. and the top of the hammock is attached yo the side of the coop, basicly the same way with hooks and eyebolts. as long as you put enough drop in the tarp to catch and hold the poops you will be fine
