I like the ice scraper idea! The squeegee works amazing, except on days when the poo is frozen to the boards! I found a wide drywall putty knife to pop it loose, but I might go get an ice scraper! Love reading everyone's methods!

I have a plastic bottle brush hanging on a hook next to the water trough for easy access. There's a cubby behind the roof of the nest boxes where I hide a hand broom for dusting and this cement trowel thingamajig. It's great for scraping poop. Other than that, we rake and shovel out the bedding as needed.

I use a cat litter scooper for in the poop board (PDZ) & long tongs to pick up any I see on the shavings that go into a bag for the garden compost. I just add more shavings when it gets low. I use a plastic drywall spat to scrape off the roost (very rarely).

My kids ... Sometimes they are hard to start and make a lot of noise but once you get them going they do a good job !

Like chickens sometimes bribes have to be employed to get them to do exactly what you want .

What's everyone else's best tools?

This is not a real tool in the truest sense of the word.
It definitely makes my life easier.
I tried something new in my coop. For years I have been
lining my nest boxes with the folded empty nylon mesh feed bags. When a bag gets soiled pop out the soiled and pop in another. Poop just peels off in below freezing temperatures and just flakes off when left out in the sun to bake and dry. It is the best method I have stumbled upon in my 68 trips around the sun. Oh remove the excess string from the open end of the bag it can get tangled in your birds legs and wings.

I do a mix of shavings and straw. I turn the bedding once in awhile and add a new layer on top. I clean it completely out 2x a year with a old hoe.
