Favorite door hardware/latch/lock?

Nope not locked in. And still happily using my existing hardware/locks that check all the boxes for my particular hardware requirements. Just not leaving the key in the run door. Pretty simple solution.
Just keep that allen wrench in there. Good you leaving the key out. We all learn from our mistakes. Of course I've never been locked in my coop/run so I'll have to learn form your incident. As I said before, keys are just one more thing to track and worry about. But if ur willing to deal with it, more power to ya. :clap

Oh n ty. It takes a big person to admit and warn others that what they tried/used backfired/didn't go as planned/malfunctioned. Like ya said PSA. :thumbsup Now all who decide to go the route of possible malfunction with this lock, they know not to leave the key in. Some would say it is obvious but like marking, hot coffee hot, some may need the notice.

I have liked their designs for the simplicity and ease of install for those who are not that capable, however I have always wondered of their durability. Being made of mosty plastic the possibility of it getting warped in the texas heat is a concern.
I'm not generally a fan of plastic, but this thing is *very* solid and dependable (so far anyway). Worked fine in temps below zero and above 100. The door was in a shaded part of the run, so it has not been in direct sun. The control panel did take some direct sun (and rain, and ice, and snow) and never failed on me. Only had to change the batteries once this year. Some of Omlet products are junky plastic, and some are really sturdy and well designed. The autodoor is one of their better products.

I've been lookin into gettin one of their cat trees.

May I add to this thread, please? Is this type of gate latch proof from predators? OR perhaps two of them, one up top and one below?

(Yes, I've seen the shed door latch but not figuring out how to use it on the gate of our chicken run. )
