Favorite "old school" Christmas toy

pad, sounds as if your husband and I found joy in the same things. I can remember the Christmas 65 years ago when I got a slinky. What a neat toy - my mind's eye can still see it going down the steps from my parents' bedroom to the front hallway.

When I was a small kid, my dad operated a television sales and repair store. I got the big cardboard boxes and they were our sleds down the hill-sides in the nearby cow pasture.

I also got all the "dead" vacuum tubes (not the one for the TV screen, the others inside the cabinet and from radios and other equipment) to use as sort of little alien people. Not unlike Playskool People.

Sourland, when I was really young, my friends and I had a slinky club. XD Our slinkies had their own names and 'membership cards', and we'd race them down any stairs we could find.

I loved the Johnny West dolls. They were cowboys with removable gun belts, hats, boots, vests, rifles, etc. They were the size of a Barbie. He had a palomino horse with removable bridle and saddle. One Christmas I got the buckboard and bunkhouse.......GOOD TIMES *sigh*

(I am female!)
