Favorite tools and those to avoid?

.

I’d never do nipple anything, birds can’t get a nice big gulp of water, they’re easier for us but not great for the birds.i have 4 of this kind

Yes! Nipple waterers were invented (probably) by those money hungry chicken factories

Reciprocating saw is great multi tool, and most likely when you think you're done you'll want to change something and that tool will help with undoing what you've done lol

I am totally sold out to deep litter in the coop and run, also have done deep mulch in garden for about 40 years. Converting garden to Back to Eden, and planted a BTE orchard several years ago. BTE style has allowed me to plant an orchard in an area which is totally inhospitable to fruit trees! I have not yet had my rabies shot, and will probably avoid it when they offer it!

I'm a 62 y.o. biddy. Still cautious, which is why I still have all of my fingers and toes. But, with fear and trepidation, I use every power tool in the shop except for the router. Hubby bought me a Stihl (? sp) chain saw, which is the only chain saw I have the strength to start. It makes sense to have someone around when you are using equipment which is capable of causing bodily harm. But, the way I look at it, what have I got to loose???

Regarding hog rings... when I built my coop recently I had hog ring pliers handy... but I was hiding my rings from myself :(... I’m sure I’ll find them someday after buying more...

Anyway I had J-clips and J-clip pliers handy, so just used them. And I must say they worked really well.

I'm looking at impact drivers on Amazon now. They look like drills. I have two drills, both of which have a screw mode and auto-torque feature. Is that what you mean?

That pneumatic stapler is a new one on me! I've never seen a tool like that before. Does it require an air compressor to use it? I've got some kind of heavy-duty Stanley-brand stapler but it doesn't look like those.
They look like drills but are so much better. And yes, you need a compressor. Totally worth it. Saves a ton of time.

Got a reciprocating saw! Don't have a chop saw, but I do have a table saw. Neither of which I've used yet...but y'all make me feel more and more brave. Thank you!
Table saws are the bomb! I rip boards and make lighter cages, which is great for us old folks and cheaper too!
Chop saws are great for cutting angles, and straight cuts in volume.
Just remember to stay focused on where the blades are in relation to your hands. Wear ear protection and eye protection.

Yeah, most modern decent cordless drills will have a driver feature on them. Are they the same/as good? No. Will they suffice for chicken coops? Yes, and you won't know the difference (that I can think of.)

The one thing I wish I had done to predator proof my run, was an electric wire. I spent a small fortune on hardware cloth when I should have put something to stop hawks and ran wire around the top and bottom and called it good.
