My sure fire method of getting all the girls back in their fenced area, after some ranging time, is to shake a container of raisins. It doesn't matter what yummy morsel they are scratching, they give up all other food, and their freedom, for raisins. They even come to me just saying, "raisins!"
One of my girls will follow me around the house when I get out the fly-swatter. We make a great team ridding the house of flies.
Mine aren't interested in cheerios, cabbage, peas or cracked corn.
