Favorite White Egg Layer Breeds

LOVE my shaver/leghorns. Every egg is jumbo size (60 grams) or larger. Very calm birds, quiet, not broody, and an egg a day (occasionally 2!) from each hen. I've been bragging about them all day lol!

You're thinking is very similar to where I was a few months ago. I had a list of my top choices and did not want more than two of any one type - interested in heritage breeds, etc. I made a list of my top choices using the charts on this site, based on egg production, color, temperament and appearance. (Hey I wanted chickens I think are pretty!) Make your list longer than you think you need. I had to change my choices based on what were available as new hatches in my feedstores within a two week time period. I didn't think it would be wise to have too big an age difference for integration purposes.

I got excited and ended up with 2 Dominiques that are two weeks older than the other 6, who were all within 3-5 days of the same hatch date. As it was, the Dominiques were in their own box until they all integrated in the new coop when the younger ones were 5-6 weeks old.

I don't have any eggs yet, but I'm happy with my little flock - the 2 Dominiques, 2 EE's, 2 Gold Laced Wyandottes, 1 Wellsumer, and 1 Blue Wyandotte.

I love my Golden Campines. They lay a med/large white egg and lay like crazy. They don't like to be handled but will tolerate it. However, they do follow me around (right on my heels) begging for a treat. I think their color and barring is very striking.

None of my chicks are laying eggs yet, but my Brabanters will lay a white egg. I mainly got them because I thought they were adorable, but I like the idea of having a variety of egg colors. I think I read somewhere that some EEs can lay pink eggs. Someone with more experience can probably offer other idea for pink egg layers.

I personally love the Polish chickens. They are a beautiful looking chicken, the eggs they lay are medium sized and white.

I also have golden lakenvelders (the buff and black ones), and one of my hens has been broody for quite some time now. Either she's found a nest of guinea eggs or she's just no good, cause it seems like she's been at it more than long enough. But she is still trying to pull it off

I also have the silver lakenvelders, the ones that are white and black. I have a trio of each

I love, love, love my Barred Hollands. 3 of my 4 girls just started laying a few weeks ago. And they're consistently laying beautiful white eggs.

My favorite white egg layer is the Black La Fleche.
