It sucks when you lose a patient. You're right, it's not always possible to know what's wrong and we try to do something and sometimes anything to see if it will work. There was obviously far more going on inside your chicken than any of us could have guessed.

I'm sorry we couldn't have a happy ending.

On top of her skin issues I believe she developed a respiratory illness at the end which is what finished her off. It was for the best for her. Although she enjoyed cuddling up and was doing okay, it was no quality of life for her. I am okay with her just passing that, just quietly going off to "sleep". Just like people they all react to different things in different ways, and get different illnesses. Thank you everyone for your help and sympathies.
