Watching eggs hatch never gets old! You will be hooked like the rest of us!

Maybe next spring. I've got so much going on with 4 different flocks right now I can hardly think straight. Although watching this chick pop out of its shell made me CRY but who doesn't cry when they witness something so profound! I feel like I watched something truly amazing the past 21 days!

Now just one egg is left. I haven't seen a pip yet. I went to TSC to pick up companions for the newborn just in case it turns out to be the only chick out of this hatch. I got 6 Midnight Majesty Marans since they were so similar.

Since this little one hatched on my aunt’s birthday I gave her naming rights. She chose Delphine, as she loves dolphins. Delphine is French for dolphin.

thats a cute name - lucky to have somewhere near to get chicks from - do they have the chicks where you can go look at them all?

My eggs not hatched yet with broody girls and it is now day 28/29 they do have air cell that I can see but I only have a torch and have to find a dark spot to see as have to look in day when the broody girls get up for a stretch

These eggs were shipped to me from Alabama. I have located someone closer but haven't contacted them.

Egg #7 pipped last night and I barely caught it coming out of the shell when I got up!

So that's 2 eggs out of 8 hatched for a 25% hatch rate. I'm glad I got that second one. It came out of a super dark egg and I hope it's a cockerel.
