Fearless Rooster Contest

This is Richard with one of his ladies, Daisy. Richard is a great protector of his ladies, and has beaten my poor Schnauzer three times. The dog just wants to be friends, but when the dog and rooster meet the dog loses. I haven't figured out how to edit the photo to add his name, I suspect that I can't do it from my phone.

Nice BOs! I too have Schnauzers two of them!

Don't know how to add this to original post, so here is pic with his name. But so many other roo's have actually displayed fearlessness, Kono can't compete with that!

Thanks, I have 2.5 Schnauzers (one's a Schnoodle). The Schnauzers are OK with the birds, but want to play a little too rough, so normally they're supervised closely. Richard likes to fly over the fence into dog land and ends up cornering the poor dog, who ends up frozen in fear and trying to protect his head. The Schnoodle is another matter, he needs to kill anything that's not a dog. Hence, the back yard is divided into dog land and chicken land. Now, when my big, brave dog is on leash in his back yard, he hides behind my legs whenever Richard makes an appearance. I like how Richard will pretend to be looking for food in the grass in order to get close to the dog (or me), and then pounces.

The BO's were my first chickens and I see why they were so highly recommended. The came in as day old "females" but Richard is so pretty that I couldn't rehome him. Daisy is tiny, but a good producer when she not busy being broody. She raised the chicks in my avatar for 4 weeks, then overnight decided that they were horrible. She still picks on the chicks (sex links) who are all much bigger than her.
