Fearless Rooster Contest

This is Richard with one of his ladies, Daisy. Richard is a great protector of his ladies, and has beaten my poor Schnauzer three times. The dog just wants to be friends, but when the dog and rooster meet the dog loses. I haven't figured out how to edit the photo to add his name, I suspect that I can't do it from my phone.

Hello @enoryz and @Coykoi,

Thank you both for entering!
Boy is Luchi handsome! Looks very fearless. I was hoping a Brahma would be entered in this!! Thank you!

And Richard is very handsome. Oh, sorry to hear about him being mean to your Schnauzer. He looks very young, his spurs aren't fully grown, right? He might have more time to mature. You should check out my thread on taming a rooster. I asked a question and many helpful folks replied. it can help you, too. https://www.backyardchickens.com/posts/19080278/

Thanks again for entering, guys!

Best Regards,

Thanks!!

Thanks, those two are just over a year old. His spurs are starting to flake off into spikes, and he's sometimes a jerk, flogging me when he gets into a mood. He's definitely behaving like a young, hormone filled guy. I hope he settles down to be a gentleman.

Well, my rooster Kono hasn't really done anything along the lines of being "fearless" unless chasing a cat out of the yard is considered being fearless. He does let the hens, especially Kalani, get under his wings at night. When we went to bring the chickens in the garage for Hurricane Irma, it was already pretty rainy and windy the night before. Kono was on the rain/wind side of the roost bar and was blocking all the rain with his body so the hens stayed dry under his wing. He was pretty soaked with we got him to the garage, but the hens were perfectly dry. That's his claim to fame thus far. View attachment 1161546
Now that's a good rooster taking on the rain and wind for his girls

I'll be hoping for you too. The one in my profile photo, Magnum, is going through that kinda stage. Still too young for the mating hormones though...

Best Wishes,
