Is it possible for a modern game X old english bantam to have some feathers on its feet? OR, have my birds been stepping out when nobody is looking?

Also, some of my polish X frizzle babies have 5 toes, some with 4 on one foot and 5 on the other - but neither parents have 5 toes? I've noticed that only the chicks with frizzle feathers have 5 toes, the ones with straight feathers do not.

I am completely ignorant to genetics, so is it possible that these traits can manifest out of seemingly nowhere when two different breeds are crossed?

Maybe someone could suggest a good online source or book that could help me understand all this nonsense
I am sort of experimenting right now, but in the future I won't be mixing breeds like I am now, its just that I need to build new cages

Clueless on the frizzle genes, but I know Silkies have the extra toes.On the other issue though,Modern games and Old English (standard or bantam) should NOT have feathered legs... I would have to say someone stepped out somewhere...lol...

That would be my guess except I know my silkies are 100% seperate from these guys.

and my pure modern games don't have feathered feet but for some reason I found this guy and I think he might be the result of the one stray old english hen I have in the mix.

Wow! So curious. You might be able to get some more experienced folks about this possibility at the website for the Old English-
www.bantychicken.com .......

Maybe those Silkies have some sneaky ways to fertilize.

Someone else has been into your OE/Modern mix. Not sure what you mean by polish X frizzle? Frizzle is not a breed; it is a trait recognised in ALL breeds, and common to several, including polish. That said, sizzle breeding has been very oppular for the last could of years, so I would guess that your frizzled bird is froma sizzle breeding project. Check the number of toes he/she has. I bet its 10 (5 per foot). Polydactyly is dominant, so one parent has at least one extra toe.
