Feather Loss in same spot

I have about 7 quail balding in the same spot. I picked up the wrong feed which is lower in protein than what they usually eat. The skin isn’t irritated. They’re in a 8’x10’ ground pen.

That looks like they're getting a bit too much attention from the roos or over preening.

How many quail do you have? How many hens, how many roos?

If you take a close look, do you see any mites?

I’m in the middle of condensing what I have. I have 18 hens and 6 Roos.

That's a good number, not too crowded. You do have a few too many roos, though. You might see some of those bald patches start to go away if you get rid of at least 3 of those boys.
