Can I ask why the turkey feed and not chicken feed?

I was also told to feed turkey feed for more protein..

This bird looks like it was picked on. It is to young for over breeding to be a likely cause. Poor thing. I do see lots of new feathers trying to grow in.

When upping protein I usually use a starter feed.

I will educate myself on the turkey feed. I am curious how it differs in other nutrients too.

It is perfect, imo, for this exact thing. To compare feeds.
I love it.

You have to remember that feeding high protein to birds that don't need it is not necessarily a good thing either.

I just read that today somewhere else. ugh. here I thought with all the feather loss I was doing a good thing.

Looks like feather loss from overbreeding. Their feathers will grow back after they molt in the fall.

no rooster. that's what I thought at first and got rid of him. that was months ago.
