Hey all,

wanted to warn my fellow chicken enthusiasts not to engage to do business with Feather Lover Farms. I ordered from them earlier in the year and paid obscene amount of money for their chickens. Some chicks didn’t make it alive, so that’s where the fun began. I have called 3-4 times and left a message. Emailed 3-4 times over a course of two month. Zero answer, despite all of the guarantees included in the terms of the sale. Otherwise I wouldn’t be paying that kind of money for chickens.

So I filed a dispute charge claim with my bank. And surprise surprise, who responded to everyone single email I have sent, with various levels of helpfulness or threats in them.

Note, you wouldn’t be able to locate any independent online reviews about them, except those moderated by them on their website. They seem to be pretty savvy on digital marketing so beware of trusting the front they put up with their website.

Also to note, the delivery process was ridiculous. They gave no notice of them shipping my chicks, which were on order for over a month. The chicks just showed up on 1 day notice from the post office while we were out of town.
Terrible experience overall. Stay away!

On a positive side, I ordered my previous batch from MyPet chicken. The prices are a lot more reasonable and they go above and beyond in their responsiveness and helpfulness with your order. That was my first mail order of chicks and I really appreciated their help with it. Also all chicken arrived healthy and stayed healthy.

I feel you man. In the past I used to buy chickens from feather farms, and many times I got rigged. I learned my lesson and left this business. So I started a new one based on cows. I bought them from this web platform https://www.fairacresstockfarms.com/genetic-selection.html, and I have to say I was more than excited. I was not lied as in the chicken business, and the profits are bigger than when I was growing chickens. So my advice to all of you would be that, if you feel like chicken business is not your field, try changing the scenery. You never know where your luck is lying.

I wish I had done a simple internet search on Feather Lover Farms before ordering from them. I paid them over $600 in February for 7 Ayam Cemani chicks and Priority Mail Express 2-day guaranteed delivery. The post office took four days to deliver them; by the time they arrived, they were not only dead, but stank so bad that the post office employees would not even bring the box inside after unloading the delivery truck. I do NOT wish to expose any more chicks to such a horrible and inhumane fate, and have exchanged multiple emails with Feather Lover Farms, asking them to cancel my order and refund my money.
They adamantly refuse to refund my money, despite the fact that they are not currently in the process of preparing or fulfilling any order for me, and despite the fact that they are able to collect the full insured value of the chicks, plus the cost of shipping, directly from the USPS (since the USPS at least does stand behind their product with a full refund guarantee).

Despite the fact that I have repeatedly explained to them that I do not consent to exposing any further chicks to the danger of such an inhumane fate, they refuse to do anything other than offer me a choice of reshipment or store credit, both of which involve repeating the process of exposing baby chicks to the unreliability of the postal service.

On top of that, the shipment contained only 6 all black chicks (Ayam Cemanis), and 2 buff colored chicks. They claim they sent all 7 Ayam Cemanis (not true), and that the buff colored ones are a different breed, included as a freebie.

Their terms and conditions do state that they never give full refunds, and that they never refund shipping. Perhaps this is a reasonable policy when they are in the process of hatching out eggs to fulfill an order, to protect them against getting stuck with chicks that they might then have no buyer for. But, given the fact that they are NOT currently hatching any chicks for me, and they are able to collect the full insured value of the chicks plus cost of shipping, from the post office, their refusal to budge one bit from their normal policy and make a special exception, instead demanding that I choose between subjecting further chicks to the very real danger of suffering and death, or losing my investment entirely, is nothing short of criminal in my opinion.

I have ordered from mypetchicken many times and all chicks have arrive alive. They have excellent customer service and if you have any kind of problem with a chick, they will help to solve it. I have also ordered from Cackle Hatchery who get their eggs (from the Amish they say) and had no problems. They always ship extra chicks with your order.

I ordered also from there and their chickens are overly expensive for their quality. I bought Seramas from them and the Seramas were pet quality. The wait is always extremely long as well. I have spent the same amount and have gotten the extreme Serama show quality fully grown. Definitely continue shopping around. There will always be hatcheries or personal breeders that take more pride in their actual rare breeds and sell for less.

I am having a similar experience with them now. I ordered some (crazy expensive) chicks, and they were sent/arrived as expected. However, one was DOA and EIGHT more died over the next 48 hours. They initially responded to my emails, asking for photos (which I sent) and told me they'd "take care of" me.

However, 7 emails and 4 chat attempts later (why they have a chat function on their website when no one responds is mysterious), I've heard nothing. No one picks up the phone at the only phone number I can find (on BBB site). and there's no way to leave a message.

I'm going to have to file a dispute with my credit card company, which luckily is very good at laying down the hammer on unscrupulous merchants. Maybe then I'll get a call back.

There are literally hundreds of legit places to purchase chicks. I would think "shopping around" would be natural, causing this site to stand out as a ripoff, and the majority being way more reasonable with great reviews.

I'm glad I decided to check here first before ordering. I almost ordered and then decided to see if anyone here had dealt with them so thank you.
