Can you get us a better photo of the mites?


@ejtrout31 Do you have more information about this? I have not seen this information before, so it would be interesting to learn more about lice killing the mites. Can you give us a link to where we can find that?

A friend of mine told me about it she knows some body who has done it so she tried and bought one of my birds that have lice and they apparently kill the mites.

I have also tried it when my flock had mites I was given a free chicken cause it had lice it killed the mites then I used lice treatment on the birds and after the lice dust a day later they were free of mites and lice.

It's not the lice that killed the mites, it was the lice dust. Poultry Dust (louse powders, miticides, carbyl/sevin, permethrin, etc.) will kill and treat external parasites - both lice and mites.

No I treat for lice after the mites are gone lice powder doesn’t work on mites I wait and check my birds only have lice then powder them.

Interesting. Can you post a photo or tell us the name of the Lice Powder?
