I very carefully sprinkled it around their wings and bums. I took it on the end of my finger and rubbed it under their chin, making sure no dust flew around. I will try to get borax whenever I go to the store next.

Borax is a little harsh, make sure they don’t ingest any, I think it is poisonous if ingested.

Many pigeon keepers, including me, routinely add a couple of tablespoons to the bath water to deter parasites. They usually drink some with no ill effect. Borax in the 20Mule Team brand is simply a detergent booster, not really poisonous as I understand it.
