What is the best way to keep chickens from pecking other chicken's feathers out?

It depends on the root cause of the feather picking - it can stem from overcrowding, boredom, aggression, mating behavior..........knowing a bit more about your flock and the specifics of what sort of picking is going on can help in offering some suggestions to stop it.

Need more info. For example, I noticed a feather picking problem in my flock a couple of weeks ago, so I spent some time observing my chickens and decided I have two bullies. I separated the two bullies and now the rest are doing fabulous. I plan on reintroducing the bullies in a week or two to see if their behavioral issues have been resolved, but if they are still jerks they are going in the stew pot.
