Feathered Legs=Frizzle?

Our broody hens' eggs hatched yesterday. We had 7 OE eggs and 2 EE, one of which is possibly a frizzle. My question is, does feathered legs suggest that chick is an EE frizzle? Thank you

Hey! It really depends, if your frizzle is the only one in the flock with feathered legs then yes, but if any of the other OE or EE have the trait then it might be some other OE or EE.

Thanks. We bought them from a farm (with separate pens for different breeds) and the person there said it MIGHT be a frizzle, they weren't sure. But if you think there is a possibility, then that sounds good to me!

My understanding is that a chicken needs one copy of the Frizzle gene to be a frizzle and that feathered legs have nothing to do with being frizzle. The chick could have inherited the feathered leg gene without inheriting the frizzle gene...I’m a complete newbie at genetics so maybe I’m wrong

I was able to tell within the first couple of weeks that mine was a frizzle. It started showing it's cute lil frizzle feathers as soon as it lost it's soft down.

Sometimes you can tell by a curled wing. Here’s my frizzle when it hatched, the curled wing, and now! I hope this helps!!

I could tell with mine in under a week. The moment those first feathers come in...
