Our Barred Rock molted like usual this year, but now she has a tiny area on her butt that never filled back in. The skin is red like it is getting ready to sprout feathers and you can see the beginnings of a few pin feathers, but it seems strange that it hasn't filled in yet. She has one tiny bit of feathers developing in the middle of this weird bald patch. There are no mites or lice. Could this be age related? She's only around 3 years old. She's in good health. Has anyone had anything like this happen?
