I have a chicken that has been playing with broodiness. There was no eggs that were fertile so I let her do her thing. It's been awhile and all of a sudden it seems as if she has gotten over it. Before she was always in the box and i had to pull her out. She would go back up in there sooner than anyone else. Now, she is doing none of those things. Back to a regular chicken.

This is perfectly fine. The thing is, I went out there today and she had some feathers on her back missing. You could tell cause they aren't laying right so I thought hmmm she is molting. (Another one of mine has just got over her molt) When I went into the coop and in the nestbox there is a butt load of feathers. I know they are hers. So I thought well maybe she was broody and was building a nest but she has gotten over that. SO which is it broody or a molt?

She is fine. I am just curious and baffled. Thanks.

I had forgotten about that. I have seen feathers of hers in the run but the nestbox had like three or four good handfuls of her feathers. Do you think she could have just lost the majority int here. Maybe she is still sitting in there. I don't know. It just baffles me.
