Feathers- What do you do with them?

I was really unsure where to put this so I'm sorry if this is not the right place.

I'm wondering what you do with the feathers you find strewn about. They are so pretty I feel like I should do something artsy/crafty/anything. I've thought about putting them in a bell jar and letting all the random colored and patterned feathers just be an interesting centerpiece. Thoughts and suggestions?

I haven't seen too many yet as my pullets are still pretty young but I've just been leaving them in the yard. I'm sure you could come up with something fantastic to do with them (I'm not very creative or artsy) but I'm thinking you'd want to clean them first somehow.

I use my feathers with leather lacing to make hair ties for little girls. Being part American Indian these are great to wear at the local powwows or just as a hair decoration. If the lacing is long enough, it can be braided into the hair, starting with the feather at the top. Light lacing and feathers for dark hair, dark for the sunshine blonds. It has brought a lot of smiles.
