feathers?

is it normal for almost 2 week old chicks to be almost bald on their chests? Is this the next place they get their big girl feathers?

Yeppers. They start looking pretty ragged at that age. I have found that the wings come in first, then hackles, then it travels down thier shoulders and meets in the middle of their chest. The very last thing that feathers is usually under their wings, which might lead to another bald spot in about 3 to 4 weeks. Just keep feeding them all that nummy high protien chick feed!
