Will post piccies as soon as I have more than a grumpy broody to show!
i have two slammed full incubators....next to my bed....something tells me sleep will be hard to get in a few weeks!!! LOL!!! Congrats!!

OK, so yesterday i was infuriated when I had some beautiful eggs ruined because my mailman delivered stuff that was *clearly* packaged with labels to hold for pick up AND that contact was to be made upon delivery....

package: (you know, the one that was crushed, soaked, and sitting in the cold at my front door yesterday)

my husband said, CALL! complain! do something!! But, I let it go bc I had extra eggs still....

SO....TODAY....I have TWO packages that are HOLD FOR PICK UP!! With my phone number written all over the boxes....

DELIVERED to my house....

this was my lovely surprise:

two different packages....
HALF of my eggs are RUINED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called and flipped out on the 800 number for the USPS...i have a case opened now!! This is ridiculous! Even my mom just came over and was so upset by the carnage!

I hate to even tell the person who sent me these eggs what happened.

On a happier note, look what hubby has made for me!!!

Now I have a question:
The eggs that are covered in yolk and egg white, they are BAD dirty and sticky and nasty. I know you shouldnt wash eggs before incubating, so what would you do in this case?

did you see my pic?? (a few pages before this post) my female NZW kindled TEN kits the night before last!!!

I just did!!! AWWWWWW I love them all!!! Next month will be a lionhead litter, another ND litter & hopefully will have some lion lops soon.
tough time w/ breeding this winter so they all got paired up & had at it!

I hope that when I wake up tomorrow I have some rollers or maybe even some early birds....

10!! I've only bred small breeds so far - but I was given 2 mini lops so w/ those 2 medium breeds I wonder how many in one 'pop' I'll have - I believe one is carrying (have to feel her again in a day or 2) if so then they will be the lion lops I'm hoping for

That is horrible! Don't take my advice, but I would think that washing them would be best. Wouldn't the yolk on the outside mold? (more of a question than anything.) Great incubator!

HAPPY HATCH DAY, VALERIE!!! She has worked all day!!! She's beat!!

So stinkin' cute!!! I'm a little concerned about her rear... more blood came this hatch & what seemed to stay in the shell when Bebe hatched yesterday is still attached to Valerie's butt. Is this normal? Here's a pic... I don't see anymore blood & I don't want to flip her around yet & I surely don't want to tug on anything... is this ok? Will it just come off?

I appreciate everyone's help and suggestions. I just completed the build for my 2nd incubator so I can have the one for the first 18 days and then the 2nd for lock down till hatch. Here are a few pictures of the new one.

So now on Feb 21st when I go into lock down, I can take the eggs out of my current incubator and move them to this one till they hatch. I used a CalorIQue flexible heat tape for the heating element and a BAH-1000 Thermostat. Thanks again for the suggestions and good luck to everyone waiting on their hatches.
I like how you did yours. I esp like that the light is in the bottom- pretty neat design! I have the same therm as you do-
