FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

She's out!!! All by herself, 12 hours later!!! She's so tiny. I see that not everything (just a little) of the yolk sac (I guess) is still outside of her body, but no blood. Oh my!!!! Will she make it??? Will it dry up over night?? I'm scared for her. Is there anything I can do???

.... She's so frail.
Id there any way you could post a pic of it. If it is a very small portion of the yolk sac it will more than likely absorb. As the umbilical cord drys up it should fall off along with the shell.

I can't wait until my chicks start hatching! Day 10 for most of my eggs today.. But, ugh, my auto turner was making a lot of noise through the night, and now I think it is only tilting to one side and not the other

Has anyone had this happen with their auto turner? I have the Genesis 1588 set up... And this is only the second time I have used it!

Put 30 eggs in the incubator, candled the other day and 26 are fertile. They are due to hatch on Wednesday the 20th. This is my second bath to hatch. I only had six eggs the first time. My americana rooster is the father and the mothers are two americana hens a black hen and a black and red hen.

Silkie I hope to hear your baby is good today!! I just set 39 of my last eggs I have here. Basque, white leghorn, GLW, BR, and a lot of EE and a few silkies. (Not hopeful on those silkies at all) these are all from my trashed post office delivered boxes this last week. They are in my home made incubator....in egg cartons. So, now I officially have three incubators all filled with eggs being turned three different ways, lol. I am on day 11 with my first bunch!! 10 more days and I see how my first shot at this went!!!

Make sure to let them sit for 5-7 days before you start turning them. It might just help some of them to settle and start growing.

for you!

Part of the odds against this set is that some have been sitting since the 10th. If one of these eggs hatch I will be shocked.

The other incubator I am hand turning I am on,y turning twice a day for the first week. I think three times this early in the game is too much jiggling in there. I am probably flat wrong but my mommy instinct is starting to kick in on all of them now!
