Just wait for the Easter hatch-a-long and do it then.

HELP!!!! Ok...Emma was hatched on 2/16... I just took her out of the hatch box so she could gain strength; she was very weak.... She's doing well, but this is what her rear looks like today. What do I do? Soak it? I'm afraid to put her with the others :( It started to bleed earlier.
Advice, please :)

It looks like it is already starting to dry up. I would clean the vent area and the hernia with an antibacterial soap and maybe put some neosporin on it.

Okay so I will head over to the injury section in a day - buttttt I have a chick one of the ones that hatched earlier today
& it's legs pop out of it's joints & cant walk because of it?????? I am going to medical tape them up to keep them in place - do yall think that will solve the problem so it wont continue to happen as it grows??

anyone else w/ this issue
I can legit move them back into place

so I wrapped Little Wobble's legs & also attached the legs closer together as well - Oh man I hope everything works out, I don't want to have to put it down

Still waiting on 2 JB eggs & 2EE eggs to do something

Here is a good link on how to tape the legs: SPRADDLE LEG

Is it its vent? Did she have pastey butt first ? I had one that was swollen from pastey butt i didnt notice for over night i gentle washed it with cool water and put a dollop of neosporin on it gently washed it lightly a few times a day cool water even if it looked clean like 2 or 3 and afte amdtre added thje neosporin a few days it was almost normal now it is normal 3 weeks later BUT If its some malformation she was born with i dont know what to do.
Might ask the general BYC or in the sickness section someone may knowGOOD LUCK!

Have you seen her poop? I had a situation of similarness -- I got 8 chicks from someone up the road, I didn't notice rigth way but one had what looked like yolk on it- but not the vent. Turns out it's stomach got torn somehow when hatching & it was intestine I believe, it was a lot worse than that & kept getting worse from it walking on it. I had to put it down.
Do you see veining in the lump?? If you have not seen any poops from her, she continues to get weaker, it might be in hers (& yours) to think about culling

If she has pooped & continues to do so then maybe look into something you can give a chick to help fight a possible infection - that might be the cause of weakness if so

I'm very sorry you are going thru this - it's never easy when they are our cuties

Thanks! She has been pooping just fine. She seems to be getting stronger, but I'm still keeping her separate. She's wobbly from it putting her off balance :(
