[COLOR=B22222]Ok, you should see veining as well as the tiny chick, wiggling around. You may have to watch for a few seconds to see it moving, it looks sort of like an 'inch worm' wiggling. You should also see the air cell @ the top, or fat end of the egg. Hope this helps...[/COLOR]

Thank you for your help. I candled, and it was AMAZING to see the little chicks in the eggs. It looks like I have for sure 5 developing, and 2 I'm unsure of. This is my first time ever hatching, so I'm very proud of the developments!

I have 1 of these also- I use mine just for hatches now since I order larger sets of eggs. How come you didn't just use the auto turner comes w/ it?

Well...first they were shipped eggs and I wanted to keep them upright and didn't even turn for the first 7 days. Second I only ordered 7 eggs but she sent 14 so I HAD to put them all in the bator...I only had one to start...ordered the other after 10 days and 9 good eggs. I am looking forward to using the auto turner when I hatch some of my own eggs!

I have made myself completely ill over this hatch!

STILL NOTHING! & I'm the 1 always saying 'be patient' to ppl... Poor DH is as bad, if not worse than me- he keeps coming up with reasons to walk in the dining room where the bators are. I guess he's watched me get disappointed so many times lately. (I'm sure he's also thinking about all the $ spent too, but would not dare mention it

) I'm gonna go to bed, hope I can sleep! And maybe, just maybe I'll wake up to at least a pip???? Good night all-

I'm so anxious for your hatch as well! We both had some ulcer creating hatches last weekend, with heartbreaking chickie-doodle in the end. Your current hatch is aggrivating my stomach as well. I want you to have a great hatch & healthy babies this time! I'm holding out hope. You sleep... I'll sit here & get sick over this hatch for you.

By the way... I'm a bit (ok, a lot!) jealous over the Frizzles auction! When are they expected to come in? Very excited for you!

I just set some eggs in the incubator for a Feb. 27th hatch. I also have some eggs in my small incubator due to hatch in 12 days.. I believe Sunday the 17th they are due.

There are 3 in the small incubator. I had 7 but 4 from my silkies turned out to be infertile. So I'm left with 3 blue birchen Marans.

In the large incubator I have the following..

7 - black copper Marans
6 - blue birchen Marans
4 - blue/black birchen Marans
2 - Light Brahma

Fingers crossed for a good turnout.

I have pretty much LIVED at my incubators side the first al,ost 24 hours now. (Plus, the bator is on my bedside table!!!)

Question: I have eggs that will be hatching on the 15th and I want to turn an old incubator into a hatcher... it needs a new thermostat, where do I get one and how do I replace it?

You can contact the manufacturer and I am sure they offer replacement parts. If not try ebay. I found several different thermostats on there when I was building my cooler bators.

Welcome to all our new hatch buddies and good luck on your hatches. Looks like my setting/hatching is not going to end any time soon. I picked up 14 Lav. Ameraucana eggs from the PO yesterday and today I am expecting a dozen Good Shepard Barred Rocks eggs to arrive.

On a sad note my very first grandbaby chick died last night. It started with a very small hernia and then within an hour had a full blown hernia. He did hatch 2 days early. Very sad time for me. I had 5 more of my own in there and this morning I have 5 little fuzzballs running around the bator

So overall I am quite pleased with my pullets very first eggs. Set 7...put 6 into lockdown...6 hatched...1 died. I have 2 Tolbunt and 4 Marans eggs (shipped)that are on day 21 today. Nothing from them yet, not even a wiggle. I am really stressing about them today

I am sorry brookhavens I am not looking forward to things like that, but I know if I get any of these to hatch at all, i will probably have at least one or two messups

lots of prayers today for the others!! start rockin and rollin babies!!

ETA: so these were your own pullet eggs? How old are your girls?
