FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

So I'm not allowed to start worrying yet?

Our first 2 eggs pipped 12 hours ago. One hatch, and the other has made NO progress. 12 hours... & nothing! UGH! Honestly, I need to get out of this house, but its FEET of SNOW outside! So all I do is watch the bator, check BYC, watch the bator, check BYC, make the kids lunch, check the bator... **vicious circle**

I did hear it chirp about 4-5 hours after pip... & I saw SLIGHT pip hole movement like 8-9 hours after pip, but it could have been my eyes playing tricks on me. Otherwise, nothing. Ya Ya I know... you all probably think I'm paranoid for nothing. My brain tells me that too... but my nerves don't care what my brain thinks, it's not listening. LOL.

heck I can't say nuthin' I was way worse than you this past week w/ 2 hatches. Good luck!!!

Mine went into lockdown yesterday and this afternoon, two of the Silkie mixes hatched. These are my own and always early and always fast. I had been looking in there and I didn't even see a pip. Next time I look there are 2 chicks coming out of their eggs, like it was a race to be first. One of them looks Showgirl

Hi everyone,

This is also my first hatching and raising chickens! I have about 10 eggs due to hatch Feb.6/7. I Just candled the first time last night, and I saw that a couple of the eggs were dark and appeared to be floating to the top of the egg. Is it a bad egg? Thanks for any feedback.

I cant hatch this february.. one more month!! I promised i would 'slow down'

Here is a great thread that shoes you what your eggs should look like on each day of incubation: Candling Days 1-21
Compare what you saw in your eggs to the ones in these pics.

Congrats to everyone with new fuzzy butts!!!

I just got home from a class I'm taking and sure enough my little Serama hatched. What a little loud mouth she is. As soon as she dries off I will get some pics and post. I also have a SFH egg pipped. I only have 3 in the bator so I am keeping my fingers crossed I get another. Lockdown on my Orp eggs tonight.

So we finally have 2 of the 4 chicks hatched!! FINALLY! - 2 more to go. This new one is a curious little bugger..., but oh my little chickie, is it really necessary to peck at the other egg's pip hole? Really! You're not even dry yet, go lay down. LOL - Here I was just begging her "get a move on it!", and now I'm telling her to take a nap. LOL. Silly human. Still waiting on that first one that pipped over 18 hours ago to show us something. Still nothing from it... I might be seeing it jiggle every once in a great while, but I might be imagining it too. Come on little ones, you can do it!
