Day 11 of my own Lavender Orps and a few part english Orp x Buff Brahma eggs . I am hatch testing them all for fertllity
3 eggs dont look too good of 12
. 2 i had written on them "20 degrees "when i collected them so no wonder probably froze.
The other is a non starter i think
But i am really pleased at the 9 that look good I fell likethey are my kids getting ready to go on stage in a play.. .NERVOUS!! Will they preform?

I know how you feel Roxanne. My first batch is due to hatch Thursday. When I candled last night one of the eggs had quit but I think 6/7 is pretty good for pullets first eggs.

She looks just like my partridge did at that age. I am wondering if it just the "ugly" stage that they go through. Mine turned into regular feathering.

You did a great job on SP's feet. Look how cute she is!!!

Thank you! And maybe you are right about it being the 'ugly stage', I've never had a baby silkie till now so it just looked off to me

I put 4 barred rock eggs under my silkie broody named Mel just a few hours ago I've had chickens for a year now and have brooded many day olds but this will be my first time hatching chicks. I'm so excited!!

Good luck to you!!! I have Barred Rock eggs hatching for the next several weeks. My girls just started laying a few weeks ago and I just keep putting them in the bator.

I need help I have a little giant and today is the first day of lockdown and I can't get the humidity above 54%
