FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

Hello! This is my first hatching ever and I would love to join this thread! I have a dozen eggs under my broody blue wheaten Ameraucana. They're at day 9 today. I candled them yesterday and all of them are developing. This is what I have:
3 EEs
2 leghorn cross
3-4 barred rock cross (hoping for sexlinks)
the rest are barnyard mix from my Cinnamon Queens
Happy hatching everyone! I know I can't wait for my first ever babies on the farm!

I have 3 chicks who hatched no new pips, can I open the bator to candle for an internal pip? How long should I leave the bator running for? Today is day 22.

Not sure what to tell you... I only have 1 hatch under my belt, so I don't have enough experience to give advice... BUT, out of curiosity, how long has it been since the last chick hatched?

Look at that baby in picture number 3! Love it!

I was thinking the same thing!! I saw it & quicked turned the laptop to DH & said "Oohh... look at those little cheeks!! Such a cutie!!". He was like, "yup, it's a chick". LOL. Cami, those are SO CUTE!!! All of them!!!

Oh, just gotta add... I'm a bit jealous of your weather there. Do I see sunshine? Green grass? AHH!! All I see when I look out the window is FEET OF SNOW! Brrr... Yuck!

Hi Everyone,
I am setting today........and happy to have hatchmates to chat with....................

At least 3 Serama ( hoping for 4 if the hens cooperate)
How ever many BLRW's layed today
and maybe a few mixed...? =)
Have not hatched in about 10 months ,except for broodies) so really excited to be up and going again.
Also have a broody Serama hen and another with 2 beautiful 3 week old chicks.

Recieved some eggs in the mail yesterday. The lady from the PO called me about 6:00 AM.
She was upset. The box had been soaked with water and looked like someone sat it.
You could not even read any writing including the address...but she gave an educated guess they were mine.
Thank Goodness for small communities..................

Amazingly(and beacuse of great packing)the eggs were in tact. I have not checked the air sacks.............
Good luck all.......................

Make that 11 on mine, I just candled them again and found a crack in one of the Leghorn cross eggs. Being a first timer, curiosity got the better of me and I cracked it open. Thank goodness I had the presence of mind to do it in a closed plastic bag. Somehow the smell was still getting through though. YUCK. Hope that's the last of the rotten ones! 4 had moving chicks in them, including one that I could see its heartbeat! How cool! About 4 more had visible veins, and the rest were just very dark. I do have one that has a lot of pores in it but it was one with a moving chick. Hope it stays that way!
