FEB HATCH-ALONG THREAD ...COME JOIN US.... EVERYONE!

I just ordered a dozen more eggs to hatch! They are Serama's. They are shipping out late next week, which is perfect, because my eggs in the 'bator should hatch on Wednesday!

You are going to love those chicks. Make sure to read up on hatching Seramas. They are a difficult breed to hatch out. Especially with shipped eggs.

I am removing eggs tomorrow. I know for a fact some are infertile and one is dead (blood ring is very obvious). Going to tuck the ones along the edge into those spots so they are all even.

Wish me luck on building TWO home made incubators tomorrow!!!

Build one first and then the other. That way you can make changes to the 2nd one that you didn't like about the first one. Love my homemade bators.

Good luck! I know it must not be as hard as I seem to think it is-

DIY- bator & hatch box due to staggering hatches (I will never do that again!) will attach pics.
Since lockdown I only open to put in another or allow a small crack to adjust humidity.
102 degrees/75%-when open
100degrees/60%-after closing
102 degrees/72% humidity now
I have 5 in the "Hatch Box" since they have different lockdown days. I have 10 total due this month; 5 next month (on the same day!)
None of the others have pipped. 2 were/are due today, but I thought this one was due tomorrow!

We really hope she's resting!!! Thank you everybody for helping us! This is our 1st homeschool science project

My hubby feels the same way. I have had only one hatch from my two batches. Next batch due to hatch next week. I haven't candeled them since I put them in and I am very nervous. So I bought some friends for my one baby I hatched! Icouldnt stand her being lonely.
I did the same after my Peeps was the only chick I hatched successfully. DH bought 4 chicks for me & her LOL. She was so much happier once we put them in w/ her & so was I! They just don't do well alone. I've made myself sick over failed hatches, upset stomach- face broke out etc I hate to waste anything, seeing all those wasted eggs & fully developed chicks (that never hatched or died right after) just made me ill! Every time I show DH someones new healthy chicks from here, he would say can't you just buy a few of the ones you want most? I still want to keep hatching, but when I have the chance to buy some @ good prices I will. I keep holding out hope for the ones I still have in the bator...

Where's the picture? What'd ya get? Come on, lets see!
I already got 2 just alike, the one on the way is a little different. I got ones that we can easily add on to.We've had such terrible weather the past few weeks we've had to wait to do the additions. I have my 2 buff orp pullets in 1, SFH chicks in the other. I want to keep all my breeds separate. If it stops raining today I take a pics of the 2 I have.
When I ordered the lav orp chicks DH said I could put them in w/ the buff? NOPE, need another pen. Then last night when I told him I got the choco orps, he said ok they can go in with the buffs or lavs? NOPE need another pen! A few hours later it dawned on him to finally ask me just how many breeds I planned on getting

See I know that once the chicks are here, he'll make sure they have what they need to be happy & healthy- IF he knew the master plan 1st, he would have balked...
