It would help if you candled at the fat end.![]()

I did candle the 6 local eggs and I saw veins, but the eggs are very dark inside. I did see something moving about so just going to call those good for now.

yes anytime you candle you want to candle through the fat end. that is where the air cell is so you will be able to see much more that way.Yeah, I honestly don't know what I'm doing. Relieved I didn't drop an egg. I'll try to candle the fat end for any pics. Thank you!

Oh yes I would love to see what they look like once hatched!I have two bantam cochin hens brooding clutches of 6 each, then a set of chicken eggs on the incubator. The first hens’ eggs should hatch in the first week of february, and all with be red bantam cochins. The second hen is brooding 3 mottled houdan eggs(no clue what father may be), one ayam cemani egg(again, no clue on father), and what may be 2 ayam cemani x partridge cochin bantam eggs. I suck at updating hatchings, but when these chicks actually hatch may I update with photos?
here’s a photo I got earlier of the broodies.View attachment 3387774
2.5 days I find it almost impossible to see much. sometimes I notice the yolk is darker than a clear but that is about it. fingers crossed you see more tonight!!!!!!!!I tried to check my eggs yesterday, a couple of the least likely to be fertile around midday, and the rest at night. It's still early, but I'm not sure I saw anything too interesting going on. :/. I will probably check again tonight which would be closer to 3.5 days... Fx
