How long has she been broody? If not long you may want to wait and give her the eggs due to hatch on the 13th.I keep looking into the incubator, I know better and it's still a few days off but I can't help it. I checked my broody girl today and found shes moved a lot more of the pine bedding from the coop floor and a CUP into the nest. Debating on if I will giver her back her eggs which are due in the 13th or to give her the first lot to hatch this weekend
That stinks. I tried to hatch some of my eggs last year and only got 1 to hatch, and it turned out to be a roo and I wasn't going to keep a 2nd one so I rehomed him. My roo is a Cochin so not sure if his fluffy butt was a problem since I saw him do his job plenty.Pulled 7 more obvious clears this morning - 3 Marans and 4 of my Easter Eggers. That leaves just 4 Marans eggs and 2 of my own, and I don’t really feel good about any of them. I just can’t see enough detail in the ones remaining to be sure yet that they are also clear. At least the Ameraucana eggs continue to look pretty good.
Ugh. So disappointing. I had been checking my eggs for fertility for weeks, so I wasn’t expecting such a poor performance from them at all.
Oh sounds exciting. I will candle later today once the sun starts setting and mark air cells. Hopefully I have some wigglers!Oookay. I am going Lock-down tonight!!!! I'm sooo eggcited! I candled this morning so all of them were doing good, only a few that I couldn't see anything but veins.(In those ones I think I was candling the wrong way.) There was one that I was picking up and I felt it wiggling before I put it on the candler, and most of the eggs were wiggling when I tapped them. I hope they all hatch!!

She's been broody almost 2 weeks, shes my mot reliable broody/mother though (we named her Broody Bella due to it) and she has accepted chicks after being broody just a few days and even taken on older ones that were coop ready. Half a dozen due on the 13th are hers in hopes I get some daughters that are just as good as her.How long has she been broody? I keep staring at mine hoping to see them wiggle. All my hatches I have never seen it. I have felt it after an internal pip when I have gone to check them. But I would love to see an egg wiggle!!
