February 2023 hatch-a-long

Bella's 5 babies. She's visually blue barred with red leakage so I was honestly expecting more blue or black barred (previous single chick was a black barred cockerel). I could be way off but I'm guessing the two lighter ones are cockerels

They’re beautiful colors 😍😍

Just found this thread! I'm also incubating a couple of eggs!
6X of chicken eggs (On day 2)
5X of quail eggs (On different days, 1 on Day 14 and 4 on Day 9)
Also, does anyone know what I should do for lockdown with different hatch days? I don't know what I'm going to do.
I’m wondering the same thing! I see a lot of that and kinda thought I would like to do that but I wasn’t sure how that would work.

Just candled mine and the two that were moving a lot yesterday are not moving much now, and the other one isn't moving at all, as it wasn't moving when i candled yesterday either. No blood rings yet, and veining is very clear so I wont give up yet.
What day are you on? They move less as they start to fill the egg so it can be easy to miss.

they aren't all on the same day, but the first two i mentioned aren't moving much and are on either 11/12 and day 13. Thing is, the day 13 egg was moving a lot yesterday afternoon, has been the last couple days so i dont understand why the others aren't. The one that is showing 0 movement is on day 9/10.
Update:
Just got home and all are moving again so ig they were all resting. That or humidity was a bit low as it got low during the night, had to refill this morning. I thought they were fine as humidity was still visible inside the incubator, but maybe not. All are fine now, thank God 😅.

Thursday will be lockdown day for my chicks!!!! I'm getting excited!!! 14 of my 24 shipped eggs have babies moving around ☺️ I've been reading conflicting articles on what the temperature and humidity should be. Some say the humidity should be 60 to 65 and others say 80%. Also, should the temperature be dropped for lockdown? Thanks everyone in advance.

2 external pips (and I think the rest have pipped internally). Both Australorp eggs slopped. A temporary brooder with a heating cable ready. Water in both containers in the incubator to increase humidity. Food should arrive tomorrow, i also have some other stuff just in case. I can hear the chicks ❤️ Kikilu how are yours doing?

No external pips yet!! I’m driving myself crazy. I thought I had one pip internally but I’ve looked again and I’m not convinced it broke through. I’m going to take a look again tonight. I haven’t heard anyone either but they are moving!

You should be seeing some soon so exciting :clap
