Grr.... So i set my 25 eggs on Tuesday the incubator stopped talking to the humidity pump Wednesday night and now Friday we have had a power outage that lasted at least three and a half hours. If a single chick hatches from this batch I will be stunned. :(

you'll be amazed what eggs can withstand. I've been without power for upwards up 8 hours and it was only 30° outside and still managed a 60% hatch. We have a wood stove so we kept the house around 60 and wrapped the incubator in towels as soon as it happened. It got down to 60 inside the incubator and they hatched a day late. Better than nothing though!

I hope it all turns out ok.

Thanks @minihorse927 there is always hope the incubator inside only got down to 74°F so not to bad heck I am pretty sure that only 5 or so of the eggs are fertile. The next batch he is in with 5 hens not the 19 he was in with so here is hoping. 60% after eight hours those are some tough little chicks.

I didn't figure anything would hatch honestly but held out hope when they still had movement. Give them a day or two and check for movement. The extra non fertile being in there will help cause they helped to hold heat longer!

So, my birthday's in Feb and all I asked for was eggs ;) I found out I'll have a batch of lemon cuckoo orpingtons, indian runner ducks, and cuckoo marans to hatch this month! I'm so very very excited!

Add 18 more to that 6! I just found 2 broody chocolate bantam orpingtons and a broody ohiki pullet all piled together. Oops...Guess that's what 3 days worth of injury and inability to pick up eggs gets me.
Cute...ive alwasys wanted to have co-broodies!!!

Lemon cuckoo
Not mine
WOW...nice looking bird!

The barely 3 lb chocolate orpington pancaked on 21 eggs! She has a part time ohiki helper who I believe will be more serious tomorrow since today is the first day she has thought about sitting while the orp has been thinking about it for 3 days now.

mine do that sometimes too...lol

I have sort of a "duh" question. Has anyone ever hatched a Bantam rooster crossed with a standard breed hen? I have an OEG Bantam rooster that has been mating with my "so called" Lavender Orpington, and I was wondering could I end up with Bantam's or standard's or maybe both. What could they possibly look like? Out of my 34 eggs, I have 6 of those in there.
